The Assure Model reminded me of a lesson plan format one of
my Elementary Education professors used, but I like this one better. The learning objectives are clearly laid and
provide a guide for writing the lesson.
If you know what you want to teach, how they will learn it, and how you
will assess their understanding writing the lessons becomes much easier.
I did struggle with where and what to put the “nuts and
bolts” of the lesson. I am accustomed to
the “Five E’s” approach of breaking a lesson into five sections/parts as you
work through the Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate steps.
